A specification-led catalogue for architectural surfaces

A corporate site for a stone and surface supplier where every material carries its real specification sheet, and the project gallery shows the material in place.

The brief

Architects do not buy a photograph of a slab; they buy a thickness, a finish, a slip rating, and a lead time. The old site had beautiful photography and no numbers, so every enquiry was really a request for a spec sheet. We rebuilt the catalogue around the specification itself: each material is a structured record — finish, format, thickness, technical class — editable by their own team without touching a template. The project gallery cross-links to the materials used, so a specifier browsing a finished building can get to the exact product in one click. Multilingual from the start, because half their enquiries come from outside the country.

What we delivered

  • Structured specification records the client's own team can edit
  • Product archive and detail templates driven by the catalogue, not hand-built pages
  • A project gallery cross-linked to the materials used
  • A multilingual structure with the hreflang setup search engines need
  • Inquiry forms that store to the database first and notify second
