AumChat
AumChat is a hosted customer chat service, and this plugin is its installer for WordPress. It connects your site to an AumChat account, prints the widget on your pages, and keeps your product list in sync if the site sells something. It does not try to be the chat software itself: everything about how the widget looks and behaves lives in the AumChat workspace.
What it does
- Connects the site to an AumChat account: press Connect and pick the site, or paste the site key if you would rather not leave WordPress.
- Prints the widget on your pages without editing a theme file, and lets you choose where it shows and where it stays out of the way.
- Keeps the product list on AumChat current when the site sells something, so the assistant answers about what you actually stock.
- Deliberately has no appearance, greeting, business-hours or team settings of its own — those live in the workspace and apply to every site you connect, including ones that do not run WordPress.
Who it is for
Any WordPress site that wants a chat widget without a theme edit. It is worth the most if you run more than one site: the greeting, the hours and the team are configured once and apply everywhere, WordPress or not.

Common questions
- Do I need an AumChat account?
- Yes. The plugin installs the widget; the conversations, the assistant and the settings live in AumChat. The free plan is enough to get a site connected and answer real visitors.
- Why are there no settings in WordPress?
- Because they would only apply to this one site. Appearance, greetings, automatic replies, business hours and team members are set once in the AumChat workspace and apply to every site you connect. A settings screen here would be a second place to configure the same thing, and the two would drift.
- What does AumChat cost?
- There is a free plan, and paid plans for more sites and more AI replies. The plugin itself is free and always will be. Prices and what each plan includes are on the AumChat page.
- Will it slow the site down?
- The plugin adds one small script tag. The widget itself loads from AumChat, not from your server, so it does not compete with your pages for resources.
- Can I use AumChat on a site that is not WordPress?
- Yes — that is what the plugin is saving you from. On any other site you paste one script tag by hand. This plugin exists so WordPress users do not have to.
Need the part no plugin does?
These are the pieces that were general enough to finish once and hand over. When the requirement stops being a plugin, that is the work we do to order.
